One of the platform objectives is to develop and nurture a regional community around the knowledge and good practice on the themes of SIPA, by transferring knowledge and inputs from the Implementing Partners.
SIPA provides policy advice, technical assistance and capacity development activities at different stages of the infrastructure investment cycle: long-term and mid-term planning, project-level evaluation, sectoral policy design, green finance and investment.
Planning and evaluation
SIPA is helping governments in Central and Southeast Asia better align strategic infrastructure planning practices with long-term low-carbon, resilient and inclusive development pathways. At the project level, SIPA is carrying out pilot assessments of major infrastructure projects to evaluate their compatibility with long-term low-emission, resilient goals.
Energy and industry
SIPA is helping governments in Central and Southeast Asia strengthen their enabling framework conditions for low-emission infrastructure in the energy and industry sectors. SIPA is addressing misalignments in fiscal, investment and energy policy frameworks to scale up investment in low-emission energy and the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate energy-intensive sectors through national and regional policy dialogues.
Transport
SIPA is helping governments in Central and Southeast Asia strengthen their enabling framework conditions for low-emission infrastructure in the transport sector. SIPA is assisting countries in the development of decarbonisation strategies for transport (freight and passenger) with analytical tools, data and recommendations.
Finance
SIPA promotes sustainable finance and responsible business conduct principles to scale-up private sector investment in low-emission, resilient infrastructure.
